Duration6 hours SummaryDon't be put off by the name or the price (free!) -- GIMP is a powerful bitmapped graphics tool in the tradition of Photoshop. It allows users to extensively manipulate digital photos and other images, and will run in most versions of Linux; a Windows version is also available. Anyone working with graphics owes it to themselves to investigate GIMP and all that it can do. At the conclusion of this course students will be able to import graphics into GIMP, create, edit and combine graphics, add text, apply special effects and carry out batch operations on many images at once. PrerequisitesStudents should have access to a PC on which GIMP can be installed. Basic keyboard and mouse skills, and some knowledge of office productivity software, are also required.
